Me & my Purple Dress

November 14, 2006

Soooo I’ve decided on this sexy little number by Lotta Stenson. So now…on to accessories! I have a closet full of ideas! Here are some pictures just to give you an idea of how I’m going to rock my little ‘Purple’ dress…

First up – The SHOES!! These are just an example as I have the exact same pair (that I bought three, yes three years ago!) Ofcourse they are not Jimmy Choo such as these hot numbers that will run you a pretty penny…$950 @ Net-A-Porter but they look just like them! Pointy toe, high, high heel, silver instead of gold grommets sans the chain hanging off the heel…nice buy at a secret locale, but I have been rocking them for years and will rock them till the heel falls off!!

Next – the tights. It’s gonna be ass cold in NY and what a fab way to show off my legs in high style! Nothing better than black opaque tights!

Now, onto the jewelry! I have a couple pairs of *BLING* *BLING* solitaire studs that my fab friend Kristen got me in St. Thomas for my birthday! I like to keep my earrings as minimal but as fab as possbile. I’m past my days of dangly earrings and hoops. Anyways they look something like this…

So the only thing I need is one hell of a chain necklace! Now I know I can always fall back on my leaf chain but I want something like this… but bigger, ofcourse! and more than one *wink*

Ofcourse, these are just preliminary ideas, my mind and mood changes just like the weather so who knows, but this is a fab start!

High Style

November 9, 2006

I must say, this took my breath away! Can’t you see it…Leaving your lavish estate in Italy, hopping on your yacht with all of this beautiful and wonderous luggage, on a trip…to wherever you want to go! Hell you have luggage to die for and a yacht to play on! Who cares where you go! You are going in high style!

The more I see such lavish and pretty things, I come back to wondering why it is that I do not have these things. That perhaps when I wake up, I will be waking up in that Italian villa, with the sound of waves crashing along the Amalfi coast…ah, it will be one day, one day…

Dress shopping…

November 8, 2006

So I’m shopping for a dress that can play double duty(party dress and work Christmas party). My girl wants to go to NY for her birthday and go out to some swanky lounge/club up there so we can party down! So we are all on the hunt for foxy and fab dresses. Unfortunately, I have not found one and we leave on Dec 2!!! AH! Now to some of you, that may seem like a far away date, but to me, it might as well be tomorrow! I have desperately been looking online first just to get an idea, then I will head out to the stores. BTW, I live in the most lame place ever so these stores never seem to cater to my taste! blah.

So this is what I have found so far. I am looking for a basic flattering shape that I can build on with accessories and killer shoes. Also I have a great rack and nice legs so I love a plunging neckline and a short hem line *wink* Gotta accentuate the positive you know!! Let me know what you think and give me ANY suggestions!

Imelda Marcos

November 7, 2006

Win or lose, we go shopping after the election.” – Imelda Marcos

What little girl growing up did not know about that woman who had all those shoes!!! I always thought of her as the little old lady who lived in her shoes! I could barely pronounce her name, but when I played dress up in my mom’s closet, I used to run around saying “I’m Imelda, I’m Imelda” haha! Anyways, so each time I open my closet and see my plethora of shoes, I can only hope to one day expand my shoe collection to envy that of Mariah’s or Kimora’s on Cribs!

So I’m driving into work todayand I hear on the radio that this fabulous woman is making an accessories line called the Imelda Collection. I am sure this line will be the ultimate in fabulousness and glitz! Her daughter describes the line as, “a bit retro, a bit over the top, sort of Madonna meets Elizabeth Taylor.” Fab! and the price, ladies and gentlemen…$30-$100!!!!!! So inexpensive! Here is a little article on the collection Article

I also found this fun page with quotes from Imelda. I will leave you with a few of my favorites!

-“They call me corrupt, frivolous. I am not at all privileged. Maybe the only privileged thing is my face. And corrupt? God! I would not look like this if I am corrupt. Some ugliness would settle down on my system. ” – Imelda

-“The problems with First Ladies is that you have to set the standard. My role is to be both star and slave. ” – Imelda

-“People say I’m extravagant because I want to be surrounded by beauty. But tell me, who wants to be surrounded by garbage? ” – Imelda

I swear, this woman is fabulous!!!

New Hair and One Hell of a Massage…

November 5, 2006

I must say that I absolutely LOVE Aziz! He is a fabulous and fantastic man!!! In the summer he took my dark locks and transformed them into head full of blondes, reds and browns! And Thursday, he took my blah hair, yes blah, I was SO sick of it, to this vibrant red color in chunky hightlights with dark caramel low lights!!! I LOVE THIS MAN!! Ok, so this salon not only has THE most fabulous hairstylist EVER! They have this woman who gives the best damn scalp and neck massages imaginable! I was in heaven! I took an extended break from work on Thursday and treated myself. I got my hair, cut, colored, styled and a massage to boot! This place is magnificent! They play this relaxing blend of smooth Jazz while they wash and condition your hair with these aromatic products! It’s so soothing and relaxing! Every woman should take some time out of their busy schedules to treat themselves! Whether it be a hair cut, getting your nails done, buying a new bag! Whatever floats your boat! Just go do it! Because in the end, isn’t that what we are all working for???

Christmas..in Fantasy Land

November 2, 2006

Just in case you hadn’t noticed from all of the commercials, or the (obnoxious) Christmas music that retail stores are playing (already!) , Christmas is just around the corner! YAY!! Now I enjoy Christmas just as much as the next person, but over the years, as I got older, I don’t put too much into the materialness of the holiday. I know what the holiday is for and have noticed, year by year the true meaning of the holiday has fallen on dead ears. However, I am not here to lecture, I am here to share with you my Wish list. Notice the “wish” is in italics so to emphasize that this list fits in great along with my fantasy world that I should be living! Shall we begin?

Up first:

Now, just imagine…waking up Christmas morning all cozy in your down comforter, and sitting next to you is the love of your life, waking you up with a kiss and a cute little box! You think jewelry, but you know your cutie much better than that! Your eyes get wide, you are grinning from ear to ear, *thinking* is it what I think it is! You jump out of bed and run to the window where you see fresh snow softly coming out of the sky, falling gently on your brand new, black on black Range Rover with a big red bow just like on TV!!! *just imagine*

Next:

This is the MOST sexy ring I have EVER seen!!! I digress…after you come back from outside sitting in your new Range, your sweetie leads you over to the fireplace. He sits you on your plushy couch by the Christmas tree and hands you that beautiful blue box. Now this blue box is bigger than the one you got when he gave you your engagement ring, so ofcourse you are intrigued and beyond excited! You unwrap the pretty white bow from the blue box, your eyes get wide in anticipation! You take out the box inside the box, you open the box…OMG!! your jaw drops! You have never seen such a magnificent piece of jewelry in that color! and it’s yours!!! A 13.68 carat green tourmaline ring from Tiff’s!!! Your honey is sooo good!

But it doesn’t stop there:

Because your man knows sometimes you love your bags more than him (only sometimes) He found out this new Damier Speedy 30 was coming out and KNEW you would need it for the upcoming spring/summer season! What a sweetie! he knows you so well! He knows that the original Damier Speedy 30 that you have had for years is a perfect bag! But he also knows that this new style will be a welcomed and needed addition to your wardrobe. What a fabulous guy!!

Wouldn’t that be the most FAB Christmas day EVER!!!
